Dave Dreelan - 2010 Training Officer of the Year
Dave is one of our best ambassadors. He promotes a very positive image of not only the fire service, but specifically the professionalism within the Plymouth Fire Department. Dave recognizes the importance of establishing strong partnerships within the community and goes beyond what is expected to offer exemplary customer service. Dave demonstrates through his tireless efforts the importance that a strong, viable and effective fire training program has upon the agency. Dave is fully committed to the development of others, both as instructors and also in improving the skills and knowledge of the trainees. Dave is at the heart of our mentoring program for our young officers and firefighters. On a daily basis he is actively involved in assisting others in developing their potential and interest in delivering fire service training curriculum.
Jim Theodore - 2010 Instructor of the Year
Jim Theodore is one of the most respected, experienced and knowledgeable firefighters on the Iron Range, yet he is probably the most humble and the most giving of his talents and experiences, all in the best interest of everyone involved with emergency response. He is constantly providing training for any number of agencies; whether it is on a local level for his current department (at one time he was serving as an active member on 3 different departments at once!), or traveling to the outer edges of the state for a Sectional School. Jim can be found somewhere nearby. It comes to no surprise to those who know Jim that he gives of his time and effort simply for the betterment of the fire service; in fact, many evenings Jim can be found driving to or from points unknown -- pulling his own trailer with the equipment he has purchased with his own money - merely to bring another awesome training class to some public safety entity.
Congratulations Dave & Jim!
